Academic Appointments coordinates recruitment to schools and candidates across Yorkshire. In April 2023 the firm moved its head office to Brookfield Court, trading an oversized space for a smaller, purpose-built office that suits how the team actually works, five days a week.

A smaller, smarter footprint

The team had been operating from a 3,000 sq ft office that no longer matched its needs. “After the pandemic and the easing of social distancing, we found that maintaining such a large office was no longer necessary,” said Business Services Manager Claire Darlow. “A smaller, more efficient space would be much more productive.” WorkWell’s reputation, countryside setting, proximity to Leeds and ample free parking made Brookfield Court an easy choice.

An office built around the team

Rather than a standard fit-out, WorkWell designed the space around how Academic Appointments works, including an internal meeting room and a private office. When the team asked to move the managing director’s office to a spot with more natural light, it was done without fuss. “They took the time to truly understand our unique requirements and went the extra mile to create a custom-made office space,” Claire said.

A move with no downtime

For a business tied to school term dates, an easy transition mattered. The move was handled with just a 30-minute downtime period per employee, so the team barely missed a beat.
